Southern Sweet Tea

I am not from the south and I have never been there, but I hear people talk about southern sweet tea and how delicious it is and have always wanted to try some. I love tea hot and cold so I am not picky when it comes to tea, it’s just got to taste good
so I searched for a recipe to try and then tweaked a little. It turned out great and I will be making this all summer long.
I would love to hear what recipe you make for iced teas!

Southern Sweet Tea
| Serves | 12 |
| Prep time | 3 minutes |
| Cook time | 15 minutes |
| Total time | 18 minutes |
| Meal type | Beverage |
| Misc | Pre-preparable, Serve Cold |
Ingredients
- 2 tea bags
- 1 cup granulated sugar (I like it with only 1/2 cup but the full cup gives you SWEET TEA)
- 8 cups water (give or take a little)
Note
You can serve with lemon or mint, both optional. Tea is excellent by itself.
Directions
| Step 1 | |
| In a large pot heat water to just right before boiling. | |
| Step 2 | |
| Add sugar to hot water and stir to dissolve, if you add the sugar when it's cold it won't dissolve and might be grainy. | |
| Step 3 | |
| Add tea bags and give a little stir to get your tea bags activated. Cover and set timer for 15 minutes. | |
| Step 4 | |
| Remove tea bags and chill tea. Or pour over ice and serve. | |
