Creamy Sriracha Mayo Dipping Sauce (Spicy)

As I’ve said before and I’ll probably say again, I love food that has a little kick to it. My husband sometimes thinks that I can’t taste how spicy things truly are…I think sometimes he just can’t handle the heat :) but I love it. I don’t think your whole meal has to be spicy but with the dipping sauce being spicy you can choose how spicy each bite it with more or less dip.

If you’ve never heard of Sriracha sauce, then your missing out. It is a hot and spicy condiment that is commonly used in Asian restaurants and can be added to practically any dish. You should have no problem finding it in most stores but I have attached a picture below of the bottle and a link to a website where it can be purchased if you have trouble locating it.

I was making sweet potato fries to go with my turkey dip for dinner and thought that I was sick of the normal ranch dip for fries. Restaurants always have some creative homemade dips to come with their fries, so why not try and concoct my own spicy dip. I think I nailed it with this. It was even delicious on the sandwich! This spicy mayo dipping sauce it excellent with fries and on sandwiches and burgers. FrenchToasty.com has lots of dip and sauce recipes.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1-2 tablespoon Sriracha sauce (more or less to your preferred spiciness)
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (more or less to your preferred spiciness)

Directions

Step 1
Mix all ingredients in small bowl.
Step 2
Refrigerate until ready to use.

Pineapple Jalapeno Salsa

I have always loved pineapple as long as I can remember. And I love anything that has a little bit of a spice to it. So this pineapple jalapeno salsa is a perfect match for me. I have enjoyed it with chips, on BBQ’d chicken, tacos, omelets and breakfast scrambles. The possibilities are endless with this salsa, Enjoy!

Pineapple Jalapeno Salsa

Ingredients

1 cup pineapple, chopped small (fresh or canned)
4 tablespoons red bell pepper, finely chopped
4 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
2 tablespoons red onion, finely chopped
2 tablespoons jalapeno, finely diced (omit to make not spicy)

Directions

Mix pineapple, red bell pepper, cilantro, red onion and jalapeno into medium bowl.

This is great on chicken, meat and delicious on tacos.

Cilantro and Red Onion Pesto

I was craving Mexican food and knew I wanted to make something different. I had a nice big bunch of fresh cilantro and thought I’d put a spin on my classic cilantro pesto. I thought cilantro and red onion would be a great mix. I put this on a quesadilla and it was delicious. I put it on my husbands sandwich for lunch the next day and he said it was excellent. Let me know what you put it on.

Cilantro and Red Onion Pesto

Ingredients

1 bunch fresh cilantro, washed (stems can be left on)
1 small red onion
4 walnuts
1-2 Tablespoons olive oil

Directions

  1. Pulse first 3 ingredients in food processor.
  2. Drizzle oil in and pulse until desired consistency.

Cilantro Pesto

I LOVE cilantro. It is my favorite herb and is good on everything. When I found this recipe I knew I would love it. I’ve tried it on pasta and sandwiches. My husband came home from work the other day and commented on how tasty his sandwich was and asked what was different. I told him that I had put the pesto on it and he said that this recipe is a keeper and a must for our house. I agree!

Cilantro Pesto

Ingredients

1 big bunch of cilantro
a couple pecans or walnuts (i used pecans because that is what I had)
2-3 tbsp Parmesan cheese
2 cloves of garlic (you can reduce to 1 if you are a huge garlic lover, like we are)
1 tsp kosher salt
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil

Directions:

  1. Pulse first 4 ingredients together into a paste.
  2. Drizzle in oil and add salt while blade is running until emulsified.

This has a stronger, more bold flavor then basil pesto and is fresh and sharp tasting.
